Save the date: BirdLife online auction starts on 29th March
Treat yourself to something special while supporting BirdLife’s important work in our 8-day exclusive auction, starting on Monday. All proceeds will go towards the BirdLife International Japan Fund for Science to support our Red List Programme.
Going, going, gone!
This isn’t a phrase we usually like to hear in bird conservation, but we’ll certainly make an exception for the upcoming BirdLife auction.
This time last year, the COVID-19 pandemic fundamentally changed life as we know it, making many of our usual fundraising activities, including our BirdLife Gala Dinner, impossible. Instead, BirdLife’s office in Tokyo, Japan decided to launch their very first internet auction – to resounding success. The virtual nature of this initiative brought unforeseen benefits, reaching a far broader global audience than ever before and bringing the BirdLife community together across the world.
This year, we are once again inviting you to join us, wherever you are in the world, for our 8-day exclusive auction starting on Monday the 29th of March. From a beautiful framed Washi Print of a Narcissus Flycatcher, photographed by our Honorary President H.I.H. Princess Takamado, to stunning kimonos or fine wines and whiskeys and Baccarat crystal to drink them in, the BirdLife auction offers an easy online way to support our important work.
All proceeds will go towards the BirdLife International Japan Fund for Science to support our Red List Programme. Your contribution will help BirdLife tackle the planetary crises we face through our seminal bird science, which provides an early warning system to inform on-the-ground conservation along with national, regional and global policies.
Most items in the auction can be shipped worldwide, and those that cannot will be clearly marked. The entire hammer price will go towards BirdLife’s work, with the buyer's premium going to the auction house. More details on this can be found in the auction’s digital catalogue. We look forward to seeing you soon!
